Each year Embrace pulls all our coordinators together under one roof for a two-day intense learning experience. This year was particularly important as we hired many new coordinators last year. With so many new faces it was essential for our coordinators to have an opportunity to get to know each other, to bond and to share their experiences.
The training this year was a great learning opportunity for all of those who attended. The variety of topics were meant to equip the Service Coordinators with the tools needed to better serve their communities. Topics that were discussed included food insecurity, financial literacy, end of life planning, self-care, behavior management and motivating participation to name a few. Tracy Canepa, Director of Resident Services worked closely with her staff to create a format that was informative, educational and most importantly relevant. Resident Coordinators were given a chance to present their own workshops on topics they were most versed in including; meal planning on a budget, resident attendance, and crafting to name a few.
Our partners were the highlight of our two days. AMVETS, Elder Justice, Telecare, and Dignity Memorial provided comprehensive training on a variety of topics; End of Life Planning, Scams, Veterans Affairs, Depression in Seniors and Difficult Behavior in Children.
Embrace’s services make a powerful difference in people’s lives and carry meaningful returns through generations. For this reason, our annual training is incredibly important.
