Resident Service Spotlight

When Rosie moved into her new home at Magnolia on Lake, she never thought she would one day be running the onsite resident services programming. Rosie didn’t even know what resident services were, but she soon learned and began sending her children to the free after school program. She was an active volunteer in the after-school program and learned a lot from the coordinator who was running the programming at the time. When the coordinator position became available, Rosie was so excited and immediately applied. The position was ideal for her as it was in her community, and it was exactly what she loved doing. Rosie already had a close connection with the residents, and she knew all about the after-school program. When she was hired, she was thrilled. Rosie took her job very seriously at Magnolia on Lake. She was professional, creative and she was always looking out for her residents. Rosie enjoyed being the support for the residents, especially for the kids. She created an environment where the children felt safe and secure.

Just a short time into her career with Embrace Rosie transitioned to a new program and began working with the seniors at a neighboring property. Rosie is a natural with her seniors, and they look forward to her time with them each week. She has developed creative programming that is relevant to their specific needs, and she has put into place an amazing inter-generational program between the seniors and young children. Each week Rosie can be found assisting her seniors in some way whether helping them complete a Cal-fresh application or assisting with translating, they keep her busy. Rosie loves being available for her residents for anything they may need. She feels her job truly makes a difference. She enjoys bringing the community together as a lot her seniors are lonely, and their community is their family. Rosie is determined to provide the best programming she can, and she has even challenged herself to learn Armenian so that she can better understand this large population at her community.
